“A LITTLE LIGHT” is a collection of new paintings by Stefan Lehmann, on display at Gage Gallery Arts Collective from May 7-26, 2024. They chart a journey out of one of the darker periods in the artist’s life, but they are definitely not about the darkness itself. This collection takes as its departure point the moment that hope takes root, and Stefan’s emergence into a new lease and new perspective on life.
As Stefan acknowledges, his emergence could not have happened without friends and loved ones around him who helped him when he most needed it. Not everyone has that opportunity, which is why this show will support Umbrella Society. Umbrella is a community organization that helps those with addiction and related mental health issues. They step in where people find they do not have the resources to help themselves.
Whether one is dealing with addiction, mental health issues, or any other challenge life can throw at us, there are few who go through life without experiencing a “Dark Night of the Soul”. Individually, and as a community, Stefan believes we should all do what we can to support each other as a community.
25% of all sales during “A LITTLER LIGHT” will be donated to Umbrella Society.
Stefan is also producing a limited-edition relief print which will be sold during the show, all the proceeds from which will also be donated to Umbrella Society.
Donations to Umbrella Society will be gratefully accepted at the opening reception.
